Classification Of Refractory Materials

There are many kinds and uses of refractory materials, so it is necessary to scientifically classify refractory materials for scientific research, reasonable selection and management. There are many classification methods for refractory materials, including chemical attribute classification, chemical mineral composition classification, production process classification, material morphology classification and other methods.
1. According to the fire resistance:
Ordinary refractory: 1580 ℃~1770 ℃
Advanced refractory: 1770 ℃~2000 ℃
Super refractory:>2000 ℃
2. According to different shapes and sizes of products:
Standard type: 230mm × 114mm × 65mm;
No more than 4 measuring scales, (size ratio) Max: Min<4:1;
Abnormal shape: no more than 2 concave corners, (size ratio) Max: Min<6:1;
Or there is an acute angle of 50~70 °;
Special type: (size ratio) Max: Min<8:1;
Or no more than 4 concave corners; Or there is an acute angle of 30~50 °;
Special products: crucibles, utensils, tubes, etc.
3. Refractories can be divided into:
Fired products, unfired products, unshaped refractory materials
4. Classification according to chemical properties of materials:
Acid refractory, neutral refractory, basic refractory
5. Classification by chemical mineral composition
This classification can directly represent the basic composition and characteristics of various refractory materials. It is a common classification in production, use and scientific research, and has strong practical significance.
Siliceous
Aluminosilicate
Corundum
Magnesic, magnesia-calcium, alumino-magnesium, magnesia-silica
Carbon composite refractory
Zirconium refractory
Special refractory
6. Classification of unshaped refractory materials (according to the method of use)
Castable
Spray paint
Ramming material
Plastic
Hold down material
Projective material
Coating
